Things are coming together, and whether we are ready or not, less than a week from now, all of our belonging will be on our backs (not literally, we're not vagabonds, at least not yet...), in Believeland, or in a 10X10 Storage unit. We're canceling our cell phone plans, putting our fish in fishy day care, changing our billing address to "world" (actually we're changing our billing address to my mother's address, but that's a little depressing to say as a thirty year old), and hitting the road, err, air, err, setting sail??
The human race has been able to put a man on the moon, cure Ebola, and somehow fund a 33rd season of Survivor, but apparently installing wi-fi towers in the middle of the Pacific Ocean is just asking a bit too much. There may be times when communication or updating this blog may be difficult due to connectivity (or i may get bored/ lazy of writing, and blame the lack of connectivity for my failure to write). While we're gone the best way to get in touch with us will be through our shipboard e-mail addresses. We should always have quick access to these, and although we will be forwarding our current gmail accounts to theses addresses, your best bet of getting in touch with us is:
jesse.golenberg.sp15@semesteratsea.org
gabrielle.gotta.sp15@semesteratsea.org.
I know, not quite as creative as your 7th grade AOL screen name, but on day 9 of not seeing land, we'll take what we can get.
If you want more information about our journey, check out: http://www.semesteratsea.org/voyages/spring-2015/
You can also follow us at #GabbyandJessea on Instagram (its an ocean pun, not a typo). This is subject to change, we'll let you know...
We're bringing a couple of cameras with us, so I promise in the future there will be better photos then the hastily taken iPhone panoramic of our messy apartment above.
Thank you all for coming along with us on this adventure through our blog. Because this is my first time blogging (is that a thing?), the format will likely evolve along the way.
Lastly, I apologize in advance for the inordinate amount of boat/travel/ocean puns, culturally sensitive "grey" areas I may dive head first into, and anything else that may upset/offend/disgust the vast vast audience that this blog is reaching (all 6 people, not including me, of course. ok, 6 people including me). Additionally, if you hate typos, capitalization, and punctuation Foe Pas (this is a test, i know the correct spelling is faux pas), this might not be the blog for you. I type fast, poorly, almost never capitalize "i"s, and have no problem moving on.
And with that, Bon Voyage to us,
Gabby and Jesse
Yaaaaaaassssss!! obsessed with you guys.
